About
I’m Nola, and I am a native New Orleanian. I have lived in NOLA my entire life except for four years I lived in other southern cities wherein I came to really appreciate how special and unique New Orleans was. I couldn’t wait to get back home and have been back for over a decade now. Since returning to my beloved city, I have fallen in love and married my Captain Sarcastic, have advanced nicely in my legal career, and have become a mother to my daughter, Sun.
True New Orleanians never leave New Orleans. Thus, it is not unusual that all but one of my close relatives live within an hour of the New Orleans area–and several of us live within 10 minutes of each other.
Post-Katrina, Captain Sarcastic and I bought a small business that he manages, and we re-solidified our ties to the city. We spend our free time drinking in all the city has to offer as we work on wrapping our heads around the reality that is parenthood.

i googled George W. Cable, ’cause i found an 1893 Scribner’s copy of ” Old Creole Days”, and your review came up…sweet, i enjoyed the piece….. thank you
I also did some research on George W. Cable and I saw your reviews on multiple links. This is a great piece and I really appreciate you taking the time to write about things of this nature. Keep it up!
Nola:
Been awhile since we “discussed” the Tea Party. My wife, two kids (ages 7 and 10) are heading to New Orleans for a couple of days for Spring Break. Jackson Square, the Zoo and the Aquarium are on the agenda. Any other suggestions for activities appropriate for the kids?
