I think it helps me keep in touch with MORE people and no more wasting time catching others up b/c the updates are already out there! And yes, there are those people that update EVERYTHING minute thing about their lives, without caring about the consequences. There was a girl who had daily status updates on her status post-breakup. Former coworker I didn't really know but she friended me after I left the job dating another coworker for years. He apparently did something HORRIBLE & she had like 2 weeks of statuses like "You think you really know someone and then..." or "STUNNED." It was AWESOME. I lived for those statuses!!
