I've found that the more blogs I comment on, the more people come and read mine and comment on it. I don't have big numbers, but have made some good blogfriends and we all read and comment on one anothers' blogs regularly. My friend Charles Gramlich has built up a good-size readership on his blog, partly because he's so conscientious about reading the blogs of his commenters and leaving comments on them. Of course, he also has good blog posts (especially for those interested in writing/reading and the heroic fantasy and horror genres). He's at http://charlesgramlich.blogspot.com/.

<em>Sphinx Ink's last blog post..<a href='http://sphinxink.blogspot.com/2008/04/louisiana-queens.html' rel="nofollow">Louisiana Queens</a></em>

OK, "write what you love, when you feel it" sounds like sound advice, but don't disappear. It may seem like boring stuff to you, but for those of us living farfar away, it's all rather fun and exotic.

1) I've never read a boring post on your blog---I don't think it's possible for you to be boring. And I really do mean that.

2) If it makes you feel any better, I DID toss WonderDog outside yesterday. Then I called my husband and told him it was her or me. Then I told him I didn't care if she ran away. Sadly, I'm not kidding, I really did tell him those things. To make it worse, if I knew he would have come home from work, I would have asked him to just so I could pitch a bigger fit. Yep, I'm as mature as they come.

3) I think everyone goes through the blog blahs (in addition to the general blahs!). I'm glad YOU are feeling better, but if your blogging isn't take a break. We'll miss you, but we'll all understand.

4) Have a GREAT weekend!

Been there . . . I've only been blogging for 6 months and I have those moments. ALL THE TIME. I actually enjoy commenting better than posting. The only pain is that I NEVER want people to feel obligated to visit after I comment . . .

I'm thinking of destroying my stats button. Why the heck do I need it anyway (like I really need another obsession!).

As a vet, I can say a visit is in order. It can probably be fixed pre tty easily....(I won't go into the possible details here). And, as Corey said it's in the right room and not on the oriental rug in the parlor...

I look at numbers but mine are always so pathetic, it's really a pointless venture. I do know that I have a core group that reads everything I write and supports me through it and I write for them, even if it is only once a week.

And if you stepped back and wrote once a week, or once a month, I would still visit. And enjoy.

My best advice: get over the numbers. I have conflicting numbers depending on where I check and if, like today, I get smaller numbers I don't want to get all angsty. First of all, I write for me first. I consider the people who read but mostly for me. I have learned to let my blog go a day or two if I have nothing worth reading.

Gee, this makes me glad I'm allergic to cats. (wink)

I like the blog, new subscriber here.

Sandy's right about the cat. 'anal glands' are no fun. To the vet with the cat!

oh man.....nothing it worse than an animal smearing poop anywhere in your house. ugh....I do hope it stops soon. I'd be rathered irratable about it as well.

as for the blog thing....I have been there. I am there. there was a time that I got so caught up in the stats, and I lost the love. I haven't looked at my stats in 3 weeks. I feel better.

I hope you find the love again. take care of YOU!

So sorry Nola. I hope things start to take a turn for you soon. I hate feeling this way too. It happens every now and then, and it's such a hard place to dig yourself out of.

The butt smearing thing (I thinks it's called "scooting"), my dog does that too sometimes. I think the vet does something quick to their glands to take care of it.

Oh, and lastly, STATS ARE EVIL! I share the irrational addiction....
