NOLA Bloggers Unite!
by
I love reading my fellow NOLA bloggers, and I’d love to meet you, too. With Mardi Gras in full swing, it seems like a good opportunity for us to mingle. So, here’s the invitation:
For the Sunday parades as well as Monday evening (Lundi Gras), we will be catching the uptown parades right at the beginning–on the downtown (sidewalk) side of Napoleon Street near Laurel Street (very close to Tipitina’s). Come join us! I’ll be there in my fabulous blue wig along with the divine Captain Sarcastic, Sun, and Pete, plus my Colorado friends atop one child’s ladder. There may even be beer and jambalaya for you to enjoy (depending on how many of you actually come)!
If you need more specifics, feel free to e-mail me (nola@nolanotes.com). If you plan on meeting, please leave a comment so that other NOLA bloggers can get inspired (Southern Mom, what do you say?) to brave the traffic and the crowds and make it out, too.
Hope to see you out there!
I thought you said you weren’t inviting SoMo?
I love “SoMo”! And I have down right CHALLENGED her to come. But I think it is for naught.
I’d like to be there, but I fear that pneumonia will slow me down as well as the three children who will want to walk out the door to see the parade. They wouldn’t understand.
We are over by Felicity and St Charles…our house is a block and a half down Felicity. On Mardi Gras Day, we will be holding our first-ever ORGANIZED Krewe of Pancakes and Syrup gathering at our home from 8 AM ’til whenevah, so drop me an email if you want directions. If you want to come by before then for a potty break and a little hospitality for any of the other parades, feel free to email me!

I would LOVE to meet you and Southern Mom! Some NOLA bloggers might be stopping by Mardi Gras Day, too, so come on down with the whole family if you want!
Bah. I SO want to go. However, I may or may not have mentioned that my future mother-in-law will be in town and there’s no way that we can:
a) go and have a good time without her finding out that it’s a group of bloggers (well, frankly, there’s no way she can go and we’ll have a good time period, but the blogging part seems an important detail)
b) convince her to stay home on Lundi Gras (we have to be some place on Sunday, but are currently “free” on Monday) or go by herself.
c) come up with a convincing excuse for me to walk all that way by myself.
I’m so ridiculously bummed.
Sounds great, I wish I could be there. Have fun.
P.S. I’m not too envious, we’ll be with tons of other NOLA expats at Disney World.
Girl, you read my mind! I was just thinking of emailing you for suggestions on where to hit a parade this weekend, which to hit and where to watch. I hate to admit it but I have never been to a parade on the southshore. I know. I know. I am a northerner. Shoot me if you must. I have a good friend who I parade with and we both are northerners and want to parade over on your side. Maybe we will meet up with ya! I will get in touch!
P.S. I was also thinking (in the car driving of course) that we need to have a bloggers “girls night out” sometime too! Whatcha think?
Maybe Lisa (lifestyles of the easily obsessed) and I can wander down one of the parade days, we usually watch at the end of the parade route…..but maybe something will work out.
Yes, yes. Chris rides in Krew D’Etat…we went to the float viewing on Saturday and it was HILARIOUS! They are not holding back this year, so I hope you enjoy…of course it all has to be taken with a grain of salt
I know I am a NEWBY to the crowd, but I will look for you on Sunday if there are no protests against a newcomer! I recently moved from Colorado to New Orleans, and would love to meet new people!!
I will stop by at some point for sure. We will be right down the street – uptown side of Napoleon at the intersection with Camp – for the parades. If you take a walk down there look for Lucy’s yellow ladder with her initials on the back in green.
I am still thinking on it. If I do come, I reserve the right to leave whenever the crowds and merriment get to be too much. Yeah that’s right, I am a bowl of fun.
I’m not quite sure I’m ready to brave the MG crowds with new baby and toddler in tow but knowing how I’ve been acting the past few days I may just swing on by with a truckload full of Superior Grill Margaritas for everyone!
What a sweetie you are! Ifn I make it across da rivah I’ll try real hard to find you!
