It’s No Hell to Eat at Dante’s Kitchen
Nov 6th, 2007 by Nola
We had brunch this weekend at Dante’s Kitchen in the Riverbend area. We’d eaten dinner here in the past and loved it but hadn’t yet had their brunch. It was fabulous! We met friends and started with a bread plate and some bloody marys. They pickle their own okra and string beans that go into the bloody marys–I could nibble on those nibblers all day!
I had the grilled shrimp and grits with a red eye gravy. It was perfect! The hubs had the crabmeat and brie omelet. It was good but tasted more of crabmeat than brie. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but being a fan of brie, I’d have preferred more of that flavor.
Our friends got the bread pudding french toast (a huge portion and very sweet–nice if you like that sort of thing, but I am more of a salty person) and the debris and poached eggs. I can really get behind good debris! And the biscuit this was served on! Divine. It is a heavy, dish, however, and may be too much for some folks.
We sat outside enjoying each other and the lovely weather the city has been having while sampling each others’ dishes. I was sad it had to end.
Stumble it!
