Is My Name Earl?

by Nola

Apparently I upset Karma yesterday by suggesting that having all go well was boring. Boy, do I regret that! Last night I suffered for the first time with acid reflux. I admit that I had a hot dog (okay, two) for dinner last night. I KNOW this was not healthy for Sun, but I didn’t think it THAT big of a deal. I mean, it isn’t like it’s the first hot dog I’ve ever eaten. We prefer the all beef Hebrew Nationals, but the grocery did not have those so we got the “plump when you cook ‘em” ones. That was clearly a mistake.

Anywho, I tossed and turned all night and endured the guttural sounds coming from CS (or should I call him Mr. McSnorey?) and the churning of my stomach. But the feeling that I’d eaten gun powder just kept getting worse. Finally, at around 2:40, I could take it no longer and got up to yak. Considering I did not have ANY morning sickness, I really can’t complain about this. By 2:47, I was on the sofa moaning. Thinker, were you up, too? I was thinking about you and your insomnia.

This problem was coupled with the dripping sound coming from the bathroom. Not as in the sink or the toilet. Oh, no, that’d be too easy. Rather, this was from a dripping sound coming from the CEILING. We discovered that the drain pan on the a/c in the attic is not large enough and is not catching all the drips from the a/c. So the water is collecting in the attic–in the insulation–and once the area is fully soaked, it leaks through the bathroom ceiling. We now have a lovely hole in the ceiling leading to the attic. Add that to the never-seeming-to-go-down to-do list.

So it is now 9am, my stomach still hurts, I have a headache, and I need to stay home to wait for the a/c guy who cannot give me an ETA. So much for it being Dullsville over here.
